If you’re looking for an affordable home that is well established the community of Marquesa in Dana Point, California might be a good place to check. This guard-gated community is said to have reasonable prices, despite its prime location in the Monarch Beach area.

Marquesa floor plans vary between one and two-story homes. Residents enjoy the open living spaces and high ceilings, as well as the community swimming pool, tennis courts, and fitness center. Some of the homes have beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, and the Links Golf Course on Monarch Beach. These homes have an entrance across from St. Regis off Niguel Road. This neighborhood is also close to freeway access, the Pacific Coast Highway, Ritz Carlton, and Salt Creek Beach.

Marquesa is served by the Capistrano Unified School District, which offers highly ranked facilities like John Malcom Elementary School and Marco Forster Middle School. Dana Hills High School is also top notch and opened in 1972, making it one of the oldest high schools in the region. Its cross country team has won several state titles. There are also several private schools in this city such as Broderick Montessori School, Capo Beach Christian School, and Gloria Del Lutheran Preschool.

There are many water sports and wilderness trails here, as well as plenty of opportunities to play golf or tennis. The membership required Monarch Beach Tennis Club not only has eight championship tennis courts, it features a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and spa treatments like facials and massages.

The City of Dana Point is a popular surfing destination, as it has one of the few Orange County coast harbors. It was named after Richard Henry Dana, Jr. who wrote Two Years Before the Mast, describing this area as the “only romantic spot on the coast.” The harbor now features a replica of the Pilgrim, Dana’s ship.
